About the Role: An established and growing professional services firm is looking for an experiencedManagerto join their team. This is a key leadership role focused on managing client relationships, overseeing technical work, supporting team development, and driving efficiency across accounting and tax operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accountancy, experience leading teams, and a proactive approach to delivering excellent client service. Key Responsibilities: Client Portfolio Management Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients. Build strong, trusted relationships with clients through regular communication and tailored support. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services, resolving any issues proactively. Team Leadership Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing ongoing support and guidance. Lead performance reviews and contribute to individual development plans. Encourage a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Technical Oversight Review financial statements, tax returns, and related client work for accuracy and compliance. Monitor workloads and ensure deadlines are met. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and tax legislation. Advisory & Strategic Support Provide expert advice on accounting, VAT, and taxation matters. Assist with tax planning, financial structuring, and other consultancy services. Keep clients informed on regulatory changes that may impact them. Operational Management Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and monitoring profitability of client work. Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and improve service delivery. Support implementation of practice management tools and systems. What We Are Looking For: Qualifications & Experience Professionally qualified (e.g., ACA, ACCA) preferred – or qualified by experience. Prior experience in an accountancy practice environment is essential. Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Skills & Competencies Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting and tax regulations. Excellent communication and client relationship management skills. Confident leading teams and managing multiple priorities. Proficient in accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage); IRIS experience is a plus. Detail-oriented, analytical, and solutions-focused. Personal Attributes Organised, professional, and self-motivated. Committed to high standards and continuous improvement.
