GENERAL SUMMARY & SCOPEThe Assistant Services Manager (ASM) leads through Ulta Beauty’s mission, vision, and values to develop a high-performing team that drives sales in hair and skin services. Supporting the Experience Manager, the ASM oversees all aspects of the services business, including sales, events, guest satisfaction, and operational excellence, while also providing services directly to guests. The role emphasizes performance, people, and process management, requiring a results-driven, passionate, and influential leader with strong guest service skills and technical knowledge. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe ASM demonstrates Ulta Beauty’s core values through: PerformancePerforming salon services such as hair, makeup, and skincare analyses. Achieving weekly individual productivity goals. Driving sales, guest loyalty, payroll, and retail shrinkage goals. Supporting service events to enhance guest experience and meet sales targets. Analyzing financial and operational reports regularly to improve performance. Staying informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests. Maintaining consistent attendance and accountability among team members. PeopleAttracting, hiring, and retaining diverse top talent using various methods. Building an engaged team that embodies the Ulta Beauty brand through effective communication and coaching. Training and developing team members with a focus on continuous growth and sales performance. Fostering an inclusive environment that encourages associate engagement and professional development. ProcessEnsuring compliance with company policies and standards. Managing inventory, store tasks, and safety standards effectively. Using company tools for task management and store operations. Supporting scheduling and operational improvements to optimize traffic and productivity. JOB QUALIFICATIONSEducation Cosmetology school graduate. Cosmetology license or management license as required by state law. Experience 2-3+ years in salon management or relevant experience. Knowledge of state board regulations and hiring requirements. Experience in financial management and leadership development. Skills Proficiency in salon techniques and technology tools. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and adaptability skills. SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTSFlexible full-time schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Participation in corporate meetings and conferences. WORKING CONDITIONSMobility and frequent standing, bending, and lifting during shifts. Use of computers, phones, and office supplies.
