WEEKENDS AND BANK HOLIDAY COVER: 07.30-11.00 We are offering a bank only contract to support our clinical phlebotomy services across Cheshire. We are seeking experienced phlebotomy staff to support this vacancy. Main duties of the jobThe post holders are required for the collection of venous blood samples for pathological analysis. The post holder will be required to work independently and as part of a team when required. Therefore for the bank only roles we require experienced phlebotomy staff only. They will be asked to liaise with other health care professionals, clinicians, laboratory staff, patients and/or their representatives, both in person and over the telephone. The role involves handling biological samples that may contain pathogenic micro-organisms; therefore, ensuring that all procedures are adhered to when undertaking blood sampling according to laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and the policies and procedures of the department, especially in relation to Health & Safety and Quality. The post holder must be able to support the department in multiple venues, when required. The post holder must have access to a road worthy vehicle and a clean Full UK driving licence.
