Experience across both disciplines is not essential for the role. You will also be required to prepare reports, consider, and carry out enforcement action, including recommendations for legal proceedings where appropriate, and ensure that records and electronic filing systems are fully maintained and updated.The role will suit a qualified and registered Environmental Health Practitioner. However, applications are also encouraged from graduates or undergraduates expecting to leave university in 2025. The successful candidate will deliver a range of investigations, including nuisance, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles, and other environmental crimes. You will also support the investigatory work of colleagues.In carrying out these duties, you will collect evidence, prepare witness statements, interview suspects, develop case files, and give evidence in court. Other enforcement duties will include issuing penalty and other statutory notices.You will need to be a team player with good interpersonal skills and a willingness to support colleagues. You will inspect residential properties and take advisory and enforcement actions to ensure landlords meet statutory requirements. You will also prepare reports, consider, and carry out enforcement actions, including recommendations for legal proceedings where appropriate, and ensure records and electronic filing systems are fully maintained and updated.The role will suit a qualified or experienced officer; however, Uttlesford District Council is eager to support talented, aspiring applicants from backgrounds in housing or enforcement.
