This role will be crucial to the efficient day to day delivery of the service. We are looking for a competent and professional Medical Secretary to be based at the Cumberland Infirmary working in the Ophthalmology Department. This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. This is a permanent position. Main duties of the jobIn this role you will often be the first point of contact for our patients therefore a professional, patient focused approach is key at all times. You will provide a high standard of administration support to the clinical team, liaising with other departments, patients, NHS Trusts and external agencies. You should be educated to GCSE (minimum C Grade) standard, be trained to RSA level 3 standard and/or an NVQ level 3 in Administration and/or have the equivalent experience, preferably having a medical administration background. We are looking for someone with a pleasant, adaptable disposition who can remain calm under pressure and deal with a busy workload efficiently and effectively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required as well as a positive approach to working in a team.
