Job Description

The RoleTo work as a member of the team, responsible for the hearing screening of all newborn babies born or resident in Lanarkshire, under the supervision of the Audiology Deputy Service Manager. To collect and record accurately all clinical and test data relevant to the screening process. To relate test outcomes in a sympathetic manner to parents/carers. What we'll need you to bringSVQ III in health or social care or equivalent experience working in the role. Understanding of how each type of screening equipment works and how to use them properly. Knowledge of ear anatomy and different types of hearing loss. Knowledge of Otoacoustic Emission Testing Knowledge of Automated Auditory Brainstem Response Testing. Competent with Hearing Screening Management System to record all screening results. Understanding and learning appropriate medical terminology required to carry out screening. Understanding the risk factors for developing a hearing loss and awareness of the need to provide appropriate follow up. Location and Working PatternThis role will be based inAudiology department within University Hospital Wishaw .The out-patient clinics are hosted at Princes Gate in Hamilton but subject to change to acute sites. The working pattern for this role:Rota basis, weekends inclusive. The shifts are 08.00am-4pm and 09.00am - 5pm.
