Overview of Role The Logistics Assistant will be a part of the Freespace Production & Logistics team. The purpose of the role will be to participate in the day-to-day shipping of all parts and products both domestically and internationally, from organising courier collections to maintaining an outgoing shipment database and ensuring that relevant checklists are completed and adhered to. Key Duties and Responsibilities Ensure the company’s Material Resource Planning System is kept up to date and is managed to enable data flow to be as accurate as possible. Become a go-to person for operational teams seeking understanding on shipment progress, order statuses and other relevant details required. Conduct stock checks to ensure full compliance with financial policies. Manage and maintain the R&D hardware inventory. Maintain all tasks relating to the receiving and checking deliveries for quality and correct volumes, ensuring relevant delivery notes are signed and filed. Help with the arrangement and organisation of storage shelves to ensure parts and products are kept orderly and tidy. Track, monitor and provide updates on the status of shipments to support operational flows, to aid the smooth rollout of the Freespace product. Contact relevant courier companies where needed to resolve issues in transport. Prepare international paperwork for the exportation of the Freespace product, including commercial invoices, export licenses or other supporting documentation. Check invoices to ensure that they are accurate and reflect the product received. Maintain the product classification database to ensure correct classification of parts are up-to-date and current, from tariff codes, country of origin or product descriptions. Order parts from suppliers in line with, and to meet, operational demands ensuring parts are sustainably and responsibly sourced to meet requirements in international markets. Assist with managing global partners for procurement strategies required. Be involved in supply chain management to ensure all parts are up to global Freespace quality standards. Contribute to the smooth optimisation of workflow and output and the implementation of new techniques to improve efficiency and increase quality. Learn and participate in all production procedures from the ground up, featuring new device configuration, quality testing, troubleshooting, preparation, and assembly. Any other duties required by the Global Manufacturing & Logistics Manager. Key Skills and Experience Solid experience working in a team in a logistical or operational based team. At least 12 months recent experience in a role handling inbound and outbound shipping procedures An up to date working knowledge and understanding of international shipping processes. Comfortable with basic maths, clear user of language (spoken and written), financially literate, willing to acquire additional qualifications if needed by the business. Ideally, hands on experience with technology and products, and a curiosity to understand how things work. Good IT skills, including Excel. Able to learn and pick up new systems quickly and train others in their use. Able to work methodically with a high attention to detail and a thorough attitude towards work to ensure a task is completed to your best ability. Experience with MRP or ERP software would be ideal. Exposure to SEZ processes will help any candidate stand out. Behaviours and Mindset Extremely customer focused; willing to go the extra mile to ensure a high level of service to the customer.
