We are seeking a Chauffeur and Macebearer to support the Mayor of Richmond in fulfilling civic duties. The role involves supporting events, ensuring the Mayor's safe and timely arrival, acting as Macebearer at council meetings and key events such as the Mayor Making ceremony. The ideal candidate must have a full, clean driving licence and be able to plan efficient routes. Flexibility for evening and weekend work is essential. The role primarily involves events within the borough, but may also include attendance at events across London. About the role Assist the Mayor at civic functions throughout the year. Maintain knowledge of civic protocol. Ensure the mayoral vehicle is clean and operational. Secure and manage the Mayoral insignia for engagements. Plan routes to ensure timely arrivals. Transport the Mayor or others as needed. Photograph the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for social media. Support the Mayor at various functions. Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience Knowledge of civic protocol and ceremonial arrangements. Full, clean UK driving licence with no endorsements. Strong customer care skills, tact, diplomacy, and resilience. Confident and professional public demeanor. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with initiative and adaptability.
