Job Description

Job Title: Breast Imaging Department AssistantSandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust provides the City, Sandwell & Walsall Breast Screening Service as part of the National Breast Screening Programme. We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated Breast Imaging Department Assistant to join our forward-thinking breast care team. This is a substantive post covering both the screening and symptomatic pathways. The department is expanding through lateral growth to incorporate new technologies for an increasing population. The team comprises experienced Imaging Department Assistants who support the service by processing data for accuracy, chaperoning clinicians during procedures and biopsies, among other duties. The ideal applicant will possess excellent interpersonal skills, be motivated, passionate, and willing to work closely with the clinical team and patients to maintain an effective and efficient service. Ability to work as part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team is essential. Those shortlisted are strongly encouraged to contact the service to arrange a visit. The department conducts community screenings using mobile units, with images relayed back for checking, audit, and reporting by trained personnel.
