Our new service is specifically designed to provide 1-1 support to the Deaf community, ensuring they have access to the resources and assistance they need to lead fulfilling lives. By offering tailored support and fostering effective communication, we aim to bridge gaps and create a more inclusive society. Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Community Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in community work and possess British Sign Language (BSL) skills to effectively communicate with our diverse community members. Key Responsibilities: · Provide 1-1 support to community members. · Develop and implement community programmes and initiatives. · Facilitate communication and engagement with individuals who use British Sign Language. · Conduct outreach and build relationships within the community. · Maintain accurate records and reports of community activities. · Reports to Senior Specialised Community Worker. Requirements: · Proven experience in community work or a related field. · Strong interpersonal and communication skills. · Ability to work independently and as part of a team. · Excellent organisational and time-management skills. · Passion for supporting and empowering community members. · Must be able to work some weekends. · Ability to drive and own a car.
