As a Shift Leader, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will take ownership of store activities by running duty shifts, co-ordinating a team to deliver a clean and full store that exceeds customer expectations. Since the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will constantly seek ways to improve service through on-the-job coaching and feedback. You will have a great understanding of your store’s performance and be the specialist in delivering practical actions for its improvement by taking a hands-on approach. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop. You will be Responsible ForCoordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community Open/close the store and complete duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers, colleagues, and safety Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for operational queries Support the Store Manager in coordinating seasonal, community, and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well-presented Prioritize replenishment of products important to our customers Ensure point of sale and shelf labels reflect standards Address overcharges immediately and prevent reoccurrence Manage queues proactively to enhance customer shopping experience Coordinate colleagues’ tasks and breaks around trade patterns Be knowledgeable about store operations and lead improvements Follow health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same Communicate effectively with the team Suggest operational improvements to the Store Manager Always prioritize the customer and adapt service to meet their needs Resolve customer queries promptly with a positive attitude Recognize colleagues for great service Identify and remove obstacles to excellent service Handle colleague queries or escalate as appropriate Ensure appropriate staffing and cover shifts as needed As a Keyholder, attend alarm call outs to ensure store security Monitor and act on internal communications Balance service and replenishment duties Support absence management and return-to-work processes Build relationships with Area Manager & People Partner, escalate issues timely, and seek coaching opportunities If applicable, manage Post Office Local operations, including passing background checks for financial and criminal records As a Shift Leader, you will champion One Stop’s Core Purpose and Values: Core PurposeServing our customers, communities, and planet a little better every day.
