This role offers an opportunity to deliver integrated, person-centred care that supports our residents and strengthens our communities, guiding Newham through its transformative period.Role Overview As the Corporate Director for Adults and Health, you will lead services including adult social care, safeguarding, integrated support with children and young people, commissioning, and public health. You will collaborate across the Council and system to address health inequalities, improve outcomes, and support residents' well-being. This statutory role involves managing the Adults and Health directorate, ensuring best practice, value for money, and operational efficiency, with a focus on safeguarding and public health priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the Adults and Health services, including social care, safeguarding, and commissioning.Work with NHS partners and the North East London ICB to deliver integrated health and social care services.Develop a culture of practice focused on outcomes and prevention.Modernise services to emphasize early intervention and transformation.Act as the statutory Director of Adult Social Services and Caldicott Guardian.Ensure adult safeguarding is a priority and services meet public health needs.Build strong partnerships and develop innovative strategies to improve community health.About You We seek an inspiring leader with a deep understanding of complex systems, capable of developing strong partnerships and championing person-centred care.
