Job Description

Responsible for providing specialist personal protection and security services, supporting regional teams to ensure effective, efficient, and consistent delivery of Travel, Event, and Personal Security operations globally across the business. Oversee security arrangements and risk mitigation for Executive Committee and High-Risk Personnel. Lead the strategic planning and execution of intelligence-led Executive Protection, Security, and Chauffeur Services for Barclays High-Risk Personnel (HRP), including the Group Chairman, CEO, and members of Group ExCo and Non-Executive Directors, both on and off Barclays premises. Act as SME advising senior stakeholders on HRP risks and operations. Ensure threat assessments are completed for all HRPs with appropriate mitigation strategies using various intelligence tools. Lead the delivery of the bank’s Travel Security programme, ensuring consistent standards in Travel Advice/Approvals, Hotel and Car Service assessments, and physical security support based on intelligence assessments. Provide proactive traveller engagement, assistance, and security support before and during visits. Collaborate with Global Travel and Expense Services to implement innovative engagement, risk monitoring, traveller tracking, incident reporting, and training systems. Purpose of the role Develop and implement protection plans and strategies for high-profile individuals within the bank. Accountabilities Develop and implement executive protection strategies and contingency plans through threat assessments, security plans, and coordination with security providers. Design travel security strategies for international and domestic travel, including risk assessments, security planning, route planning, and training. Develop event security strategies for bank-sponsored events, collaborating with corporate access and event teams. Manage security operations at bank facilities using control systems, CCTV, and security personnel to ensure safety of high-profile individuals. Manage stakeholder relationships with senior executives, colleagues, and vendors to align security operations with bank objectives. Director Expectations Manage a business function, contribute to strategic initiatives, and influence policies and procedures. Lead or contribute to complex, organization-wide projects. Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance culture aligned with the bank's values, or act as a technical expert and thought leader in projects. Provide expert advice to senior management and committees, influencing decisions beyond the immediate function. Manage resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for significant sub-functions. Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, and promote adherence. Monitor and influence external environment, regulators, and advocacy groups on behalf of Barclays. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of industry practices, sector developments, and external market trends. Apply advanced analytical and interpretative skills to solve complex or sensitive problems. Make significant strategic decisions within own area, negotiate and influence stakeholders at senior levels, and act as a principal contact for key clients and partners. Serve as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
