Job IntroductionAn opportunity has arisen within our 2LOD Operational Risk division.DutiesWe are open to this role being based in either our Manchester or London Head Office; with duties to include the below:Main ResponsibilitiesSupport the Head of Operational Risk Control develop and maintain the Bank’s Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), policy, processes and tools Support the Head of Operational Risk Control in producing and executing the Operational Risk Control Team’s business plan Lead second line operational risk engagement in various risk and business activities and provide advice, guidance and support on operational risk management to the business functions Provide independent second line oversight, monitoring and challenge to the operational risk management activities and risk profiles across the business functions Attend where required governance and risk forums representing the Operational Risk Control Team and act as delegate for Head of Operational Risk Control as and when requested Lead the design and enhancement of methodologies across the operational risk landscape Lead the development of and provide training and awareness on ORMF components, processes, tools and systems across the Bank Lead in the analysis and interpretation of operational risk and control data for emerging trends and produce regular as well as ad-hoc reporting / risk opinions for senior management and risk governance forums on the material operational risks and control environment within the Bank Lead the production of second line operational risk reporting, annual account reporting & disclosures and regulatory submissions including ICAAP related inputs Lead and undertake deep dives/thematic reviews, monitoring, oversight and control testing and assurance to assess the effectiveness of the operational risk framework across the Bank Support the Head of Operational Risk Control as key point of contact to Regulators for operational risk matters (reviews/visits, C-SREP, responding to PSM letter/enquiries) Build and maintain relationships with business management / other relevant senior stakeholders; in addition you will support and coach other team membersIdeal CandidateResearch (by Harvard University) shows that women are particularly likely to second guess themselves and not apply - so if you are worried you don't meet all the criteria, get in touch anyhow and let us do the worrying…Demonstrate a sound understanding of the UK and International regulations relating to operational risk Experience of operational risk and control management in the Financial Services Industry (either within first line, second line or Internal Audit) Experience in the delivery and facilitation of control testing or broader control assurance experience (2LOD / 3LOD) Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and verbal including being able to translate risk matters to non-risk professionals in a clear or simple way Be a team player and be able to build & manage strong relationships with internal stakeholders Be approachable and also be proactive to engage with the business; alongside being comfortable challenging and influencing stakeholders including senior management Balance the risk and reward and being prepared to make a decision / recommendation - be able to provide an independent view of risks and prepared to express themOther Experience That Would Be Beneficial IncludesDevelopment and enhancement of operational risk policy, framework and component methodologies such as control frameworks and standards; Experience with ICAAP and Scenario Analysis; Experience with GRC tooling and/or the implementation of GRC systemCompany InformationHandelsbanken is a relationship bank with a decentralised way of working, a strong local presence thanks to a nationwide network of branches, and a long-term approach to customer relations.
