The Role As our VP of Finance, you’ll be at the heart of driving financial strategy, operations and governance, reporting directly to the CFO and managing our FP&A and core finance teams. This is a great opportunity for the right individual to make a mark in a small but high performing team in a fast paced environment. As a team, we focus on ensuring our reporting is robust and impactful, whilst constantly looking to iterate and improve our processes, to maintain our position as an industry leading department. As the leader of this dynamic team you will have complete visibility across the finance function and have a real impact on how it develops. You will be responsible for ensuring financial rigor while enabling growth, balancing commercial insight with operational excellence, ensuring that the business’s risk and opportunities are thought about every day. You’ll shape our financial roadmap, own key reporting functions and partner cross-functionally to optimise decision-making across the business. We are looking for someone to lead our finance team in the next phase of Lyst’s journey, following its acquisition by ZOZO Group; this is a perfect role for an experienced, senior finance professional who can work at a strategic level but also get stuck into the detail when needed. This role needs someone who wants to drive for results in an exciting business, with a huge amount of ownership and responsibility in this pivotal time for Lyst. Responsibilities Financial strategy Liaise with group management to ensure the successful merging of Lyst into the group Ensure cash is effectively managed, monitoring future financing needs and optimising working capital Oversee the bi-annual budget process, ensuring that financial progress follows the strategic plans set out by Lyst Monitor performance against the strategic plans, enabling decision making and advising on the impact to future forecasts, ensuring financial accountability is embedded across the business Manage business cases from stakeholders to unlock investment outside of the budget process Support on hiring prioritisation decisions, ensuring financial impact is understood and headcount effectively managed Financial operations & compliance Ensure the successful launch of new revenue streams, balancing compliance and commercials and setting up processes to ensure the accurate capturing of revenue to cash Ensure the successful integration and monitoring of a tax engine and corresponding filing and reporting requirements to manage US tax compliance Be responsible for ensuring the delivery of accurate and timely monthly and quarterly reporting, to both external listed company owners and internal management Ensure the successful delivery of the company’s first audit under group management, complying with FRS101 following a transition during the year, a change in auditors and meeting listed parent audit timelines Be ultimately responsible for all statutory and legislative compliance requirements of Lyst Ltd, as well as the relationship with external advisors Be ultimately responsible for the everyday running of the core finance team; this covers the following functions: Payroll, Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Tax and Treasury Be ultimately responsible for the everyday running of the FP&A finance team; this covers the following functions: Commercial trading performance, Business partnering, Financial modelling and Planning Finance leadership Autonomously drive change in the finance team and across the wider business to improve processes, identify efficiencies and deliver insight Be responsible for the strategic planning, creation and implementation of objectives and career development for the finance team To be successful in this role you will need to have a rounded skill set as well as a fantastic work ethic. Technical knowledge Have at least 5 years of accounting and finance experience post qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), demonstrating technical competence and able to decipher accounting standards for new and complex accounting topics Be knowledgeable in IFRS/FRS101 and HMRC regulations (VAT, PAYE, corporation tax) Sphere of influence Be effective at stakeholder management, balancing the needs of internal and external stakeholders Be an effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, able to articulate complex financial results in clear and concise updates Be a hands-on finance leader with a strategic mindset and strong commercial acumen Enjoy coaching and mentoring junior members of the finance team, with experience in managing a team Scope of accountability Enjoy reporting, always delivering accurate and engaging content Have a strong sense of ownership and pride in their work, determined to push for impact Be confident and efficient at making decisions, able to balance attention to detail with a commercial view, feeling comfortable in ambiguity and uncertainty Be organised and adept at time management and prioritisation Our Ways of Working:We all come into the office onTuesdaysandThursdays , with the option to work remotely or come into the office on the other days.
