With 90% of our infrastructure in Azure and 10% on-premise, this role is fully hands on. Your mission is to ensure you bridge the gap between Service Desk and Infrastructure teams delivering a first-class support service. To build, support and continuously improve performance, scalability, resilience and efficiency.Key Responsibilities Assisting the Infrastructure Engineers in supporting and improving the company's technology infrastructure, which includes multiple office locations and various Microsoft Cloud subscriptions Working alongside the Cloud Infrastructure Leads to help implement standardized templates and configuration baselines, enabling approved teams to efficiently use cloud resources Assisting in building and maintaining infrastructure technologies and solutions, including compute, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, and both commercial and open-source solutions, as well as cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) Contributing to efforts to automate manual or repetitive infrastructure tasks, under the guidance of senior engineers, to improve efficiency Helping to maintain secure infrastructure components, including identity and access management, patching, and disaster recovery, while following best practices in security and compliance Supporting processes and controls to ensure maximum uptime and quick service for both physical and cloud-based systems, contributing to operational excellence Staying up to date with information security principles and practices that help mitigate risks within infrastructure solutions Learn and adopt modern infrastructure standards and practices under the guidance of senior team members Assisting in coordinating with third-party vendors to ensure the ongoing health and availability of hosted or outsourced services Helping troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure incidents, working alongside more experienced engineers to conduct root cause analysis and collaborate with teams as needed Acting as a first-line escalation point for infrastructure issues raised by colleagues or through the Service Desk, and escalate to senior team members when necessary What skills and experience are we looking for? Experience in a Junior infrastructure role or several years experience in a Service Desk or similar role Basic experience with Linux Servers and familiarity with managing server environments Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS (experience with at least one is preferred) Experience with any of the following, Azure, Google Computer Cloud, or AWS Some knowledge of managing IP-based networks, basic WAN technologies, virtual server environments, cloud infrastructure, DHCP/DNS, Microsoft Office 365, and storage technologies like SAN/NAS Experience with modern infrastructure event/log management and alerting and related workflow automation such as Power Automate, Azure Log Analytics, and Azure Monitor Familiarity with infrastructure event/log management tools and basic understanding of automation processes, such as Power Automate, Azure Log Analytics, or Azure Monitor Willingness to assist with troubleshooting infrastructure issues, working with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to resolve problems Basic problem-solving skills, with the ability to assist in diagnosing and resolving technical issues Developing planning and organisational skills, with an interest in managing multiple tasks and priorities effectively Eagerness to learn how to balance changing demands while maintaining a focus on quality and delivery What's in it for you?Take a look at our Glassdoor and Career stories pages to see why our people love being here!
