We are looking for a Deputy Chief Operating Officer who is passionate about team working and providing the best possible care for patients. You will have a vital role in the effective day-to-day running of operational and clinical services across our hospitals as well as using your expertise and experience in clinical service transformation to lead improvement in the urgent and emergency care services we provide. Main duties of the jobDeputise for the Chief Operating Officer as required, including in the Trust executive team and at Trust Board. Be a subject matter expert to the executive team for operational delivery for urgent and emergency care (UEC) and operational resilience and response. Direct a programme of UEC improvement across the Trust, engaging the multi-professional clinical and non-clinical workforce to yield improvements in key operational deliverables and elevating the experience and outcome for patients seeking urgent and emergency care and for staff delivering care to these patients. Lead and direct the Trust’s length of stay reduction programme. Lead and direct the Trust’s improving outpatients programme. Lead and direct day to day operational response and resilience across the Trust, ensuring appropriate processes, strategies and tactical plans are in place to deliver safe and effective care in all our acute and urgent care environments. Ensure appropriate control systems are in place to effectively manage and respond to the emergent situation on any given day. Lead and direct a development programme for operational managers, ensuring our operational teams can evidence achievement and compliance against a set of core competencies commensurate with their role that aligns with the Trust’s values and strategic objectives.
