We are seeking an experienced, driven, and passionate Contracts Manager to oversee the County Council’s Strategic Highways Contracts and monitor their performance. Upon appointment, you will support a senior team in managing resources for the £500m+ Highways Re-procurement project, which includes the Term Maintenance Contractor, Professional Services Supplier, and Traffic Signals Contractor, all expiring on 31 March 2026. Your role involves resource management and supporting contract mobilization. You will also assist with managing Strategic Contracts as needed, providing advice, guidance, and support to the Assistant Director of Highway Services and the wider highways teams in their dealings with consultants and contractors. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of NEC (New Engineering Contract) Engineering and Construction Contracts and proven financial management experience. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential for navigating complex contractual issues. Qualifications required include an HNC, HND, Degree in Civil Engineering or a similar technical subject, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
