As an advanced practitioner, you will be involved in the recruitment process and assessment of new foster carers, including completing form F assessments.The role involves some evening and weekend work, supporting at carer events, support groups, recruitment events, and training.Supervising social workers provide regular support, including building strong relationships with foster families, ensuring they feel supported, and that carers understand children's care plans.They act as a key point of contact between the fostering service, foster carers, and the child or young person, building strong relationships and ensuring they feel supported and valued.They maintain regular contact with foster families, social workers, and the child or young person through visits, phone calls, and other means.They support foster carers in their training and development, helping them meet their learning objectives and understand the fostering service's policies and procedures.They are responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of children in care, including identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.They work in partnership with various stakeholders, including the child's social worker, local authorities, and other professionals, to ensure the child's needs are met.About You The ideal candidate will have:Social work qualificationExtensive experience working with children and familiesThis post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers), and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement for the role.A DBS enhanced check for a regulated activity is required for this post.The role requires participation in the on-call rota.You can find the job description for this post on the Nottingham City Council website.At Nottingham City Council, we believe that work is what you do, not where you do it.
