Job Description

You will join an experienced and well-supported team working to make a real difference to people, supporting us to maintain our excellent reputation within Surrey. You will be providing Person-Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression interventions for a wide range of clients. The role will be on-site with a minimum of 2 days a week at our dedicated hub in central Dorking, with financial incentives for more days on-site. There will also be opportunities for a mix of virtual and onsite work, including face-to-face, video/telephone, workshops, and courses. You will receive high-level clinical supervision, case management, clinical skills and group supervision, along with regular line management, daily duty support, and excellent CPD opportunities (e.g., PCE-CfD supervision training or other High Intensity modalities depending on service need). You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills, such as providing reflective supervision (both 1:1 and group) and participating in the planning and delivery of CPD for the team. You will be fully supported to pursue skills development and career progression, with a range of opportunities within and outside of the counsellor role. You may also lead a champion role to support colleagues and increase access to underserved communities. You will need to demonstrate the following: Full accreditation with BACP, NCS, UKCP, BPS, AOC, or equivalent PCE-CfD practitioner qualification or eligibility to work towards this qualification Experience in assessments and high-intensity counselling with individuals experiencing mental health difficulties, preferably in primary care Ability to be self-reflective and committed to personal and professional development, including supervision If hybrid working is desired, access to a suitable and safe environment for working from home Skills to manage workload under pressure and meet targets Excellent communication skills for working collaboratively and building rapport with clients and colleagues Ability to work within a team and foster good relationships A positive attitude and commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing in Surrey residents Sufficient IT skills for electronic record-keeping and virtual work (if applicable) About usDHC is a GP Federation dedicated to supporting Surrey residents through high-quality healthcare services, including elective care, Talking Therapies, and community healthcare. Job responsibilitiesJob Summary The post holder will be part of an NHS Talking Therapies service, providing high-intensity counselling. They will work with clients with various psychological issues, following NICE guidance and NHS protocols. The role involves working with clients from diverse backgrounds, using interpreters when needed, and is committed to equal opportunities. It is essential to exercise initiative and judgment, maintain confidentiality and diplomacy, and manage data related to caseloads, waiting lists, and clinical reporting, ensuring accuracy for national targets. Role of Department The post holder must work accurately under pressure, managing and prioritizing workload, and communicating tactfully across cultural and knowledge barriers. Duties and Responsibilities Clinical Accept referrals and assess suitability for therapy Make decisions on referrals, referring unsuitable clients appropriately Formulate, implement, and evaluate therapy programs Use advanced communication skills to understand clients' difficulties Exercise autonomous responsibility for assessment and treatment Involve family members as necessary, conveying formulations clearly Adhere to activity contracts to minimize waiting times Attend multidisciplinary meetings Complete data collection requirements Maintain clinical records per protocols Collaborate with team members for stepped care Address work and employment issues in therapy Conduct clinical audits and feedback Liaise with other health and social care staff Training and Supervision Contribute to training of staff Supervise staff post-supervision training as appropriate Professional Maintain practice standards per professional bodies Ensure confidentiality Provide neutral environment for video appointments Stay updated on advances in therapies Set and review professional objectives Attend supervision and performance reviews Participate in CPD and conferences Contribute to service improvements Advisory / Liaison Promote links with primary and secondary care General Develop best practices and stay informed on legislation Ensure health and safety and confidentiality Review and update job description as needed Additional responsibilities include applying policies, engaging in self-evaluation, maintaining safety, and ensuring confidentiality according to legislation.#J-18808-Ljbffr
