Estate Services Contract Manager – Location: London (4 days on-site, 1 day remote) Rate: £300 – £350 per day (Inside IR35) Start Date: Immediate (subject to interview, references, and DBS check)The Opportunity We are seeking a skilled and motivated Contract Manager to join the Housing Department of a London Borough Council in West London. This role will oversee the delivery of cleaning and grounds maintenance contracts across the borough’s estates. The successful candidate will ensure high service standards, manage a small team, resolve resident concerns, and drive service improvements.Main ResponsibilitiesContract Oversight:Manage cleaning and grounds maintenance contracts, ensuring contractors meet SLAs and KPIs.Performance Management:Conduct monthly contract review meetings, monitor contractor performance, and implement improvements.Team Leadership:Line manage four officers, supporting estate inspections, complaint resolution, and service enhancement.Stakeholder Relations:Build relationships with residents, contractors, and internal teams to resolve issues and improve service quality.Complaints and Compliance:Oversee the complaints process, ensuring timely responses and resident satisfaction.Health and Safety:Ensure contractors adhere to health and safety regulations in waste collection and street cleansing.Reporting and Analysis:Analyze service data, produce management reports, and recommend improvements.Project Management:Lead initiatives to enhance estate services aligned with sustainability and ecological targets.Resident Engagement:Attend resident meetings, surgeries, and forums, including some outside standard hours.Essential Skills and ExperienceProven experience in contract management, preferably in estate services, cleaning, or grounds maintenance.Experience managing customer-facing teams, ideally in the public or housing sector.Strong performance management skills with a focus on outcomes.Excellent problem-solving and proactive service issue resolution skills.Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and IT systems for service monitoring.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.Flexibility to adapt to priorities and attend evening meetings when needed.DesirableFamiliarity with local authority housing or similar services.Knowledge of sustainability and climate initiatives in estate services.Why Join Us?Make a tangible impact on residents’ quality of life.Join a dynamic, collaborative team.Benefit from flexible working arrangements (four days on-site, one day remote).Next Steps If you are organized, proactive, and passionate about high-quality estate services, please submit your CV for immediate consideration.Agency Note:This role falls inside IR35.
