Job Title: Earthworks Site Supervisor Earthworks & Civil Engineering Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Earthworks Site Supervisor to oversee earthworks and civil engineering operations on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the following Earthworks, groundworks, drainage, roadworks, excavation, and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day site activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Supervise all on-site earthworks and civil engineering activities including excavation, grading, drainage, road construction, retaining structures, and utilities. Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with project plans, specifications, and health 'safety regulations. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth operations. Organize site workers, plant operators, and subcontractors for efficient productivity. Conduct daily site briefings and toolbox talks to communicate safety, work schedules, and quality expectations. Monitor progress and report daily site activities and issues to the Project Manager. Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability guidelines on-site. Identify and mitigate potential risks or delays. Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and equipment hours. Inspect work for quality and ensure that it meets project specifications. Requirements: Proven experience (3 years preferred) in civil engineering/earthworks supervision. Relevant qualifications in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (e.g., NVQ Level 3/4, SMSTS, or SSSTS). Sound knowledge of groundworks, drainage, highways, and infrastructure construction techniques. Strong understanding of health and safety legislation (e.g., CDM Regulations). Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Competence with basic IT tools and reporting systems.
