Twenty84 is proud to be partnering with a Global Digital Assets firm in recruiting for a Head of Middle Office.They are seeking an ambitious and driven individual to lead the team whilst driving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, risk control, and stakeholder engagement.This individual will also be responsible for overseeing all operational office activities, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of trades, resolving issues, and implementing best practices. They will drive operational improvements, collaborating closely with both front and back office teams to support the crypto trading, OTC desk, and market-making activities. Key performance indicators (KPIs) for success in this role will include timely trade settlements, operational error reduction, team performance, and continuous improvement in the risk management process.Other key responsibilities include:Solving reconciliation breaks between exchanges and our trading/account systems, settlements banks and Fireblocks vs our accounting system.Create, lead and manage the operations team, ensuring efficient trade lifecycle management, reconciliation, and reporting.Oversee the daily trade support functions, ensuring trades are captured, confirmed, settled, and reconciled in a timely manner.Work closely with the Front Office to ensure smooth communication and transaction handling, resolving any discrepancies or trade-related issues quickly.Manage risk processes, including limit monitoring, margin requirements, and exposure analysis, ensuring adherence to internal risk policies and external regulations.Develop and implement operational procedures to improve efficiency, reduce errors, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Collaborate with our operations teams, to ensure proper trade booking, settlement, and data accuracy.Provide leadership and guidance on regulatory and operational best practices within the operations space.Ensure trading costs (such as trading fees, broker fees) are captured and reconciledRequired Skills:Proven experience in a Middle Office, Trading Operations, or Risk Management role in a financial institution, preferably within the crypto or OTC trading space.Strong understanding of trading lifecycle, operational processes, and risk management principles.Comprehensive understanding of all product types: OTC Spot, OTC CFDs, Options (Physically or Cash Settled) and Funding (borrow/lending) and their respective settlement processes.Expertise in trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting.Proficiency in risk management tools and strategies.Solid experience with regulatory reporting obligations (e.g., CFTC, EMIR, MiFID II, SFTR), including timely and accurate submission of reports to regulators, compliance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.Preferred Skills:Familiarity with crypto regulations, crypto trading platforms and OTC markets.Familiarity with SQL, Python, or similar data analysis tools.Familiarity with ISDA framework for margin calculations.Understanding of risk modeling and exposure management in a market-making or liquidity-provision context.In return for your skills/experience the firm can offer:An amazing global culture, who are ambitious, innovative and fun.Two discretionary bonus awards a year.Private Medical Insurance, Group Personal Pension, Group Income Protection.Regular fun events and activities including Thursday drinks and boardgames,Friday pizzas and there is even a winning football team who play in an organised crypto league!If you feel you have the required skills/knowledge to carry out this role and are ready for the next step in your career, please apply today.
