Our successful Hull branchis looking for an energetic, innovative, and dynamic Transport Manager. Transport Manager Duties and Responsibilities Responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the transport department. Previous HGV experience isessentialfor this role. Efficiently managing a team of drivers and vehicles to help effectively deliver our building supplies/plumbing and heating products. Responsibility for all the dispatching, routing, and tracking of delivery vehicles. Ensuring company compliance with all transport policies, legislations, and procedures related to tachographs. Managing, monitoring, and developing a team of drivers. Involvement in strategic development and improvements. Ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and serviced. Maintain accurate administrative records. Appraising staff performance and addressing any disciplinary issues that may arise. Responsibility for all health and safety issues of the fleet. Liaising with yard operatives to ensure correct products, quantities, locations, and timings. Liaising with the warehouse manager as well as the yard manager. This role will involve working 1 in 3 Saturday mornings. Skills and Qualifications Experience in the merchant industry would be preferable. Proven track record in managing a fleet in a fast-paced environment. Experience of effectively running a successful transport function. Excellent customer service skills.
