What’s the role? Shell Energy Europe & Environmental Products is seeking an individual for very long-term Power Market Fundamental Analysis of Europe. This position supports finance, investments, and strategy departments with analysis based on a deep understanding of long-term drivers such as wind, solar, gas-fired, coal-fired, batteries, transmission, regulatory, and demand factors. The role requires building credibility with internal customers to influence long-term group decisions, primarily within our New Energies division and finance. The focus is on developing qualitative and quantitative capabilities, supported by models, tools, and techniques that provide high-quality insights. Collaboration with peers in the Short, Mid-Term, and Long-term Fundamentals teams is essential for scalability. Responsibilities: Deliver long-term market views for strategic projects and support Shell group decisions using fundamental analysis techniques. Research and understand fundamental drivers related to supply, demand, and transmission, focusing on long-term modeling and forward pricing views. Monitor market developments, including market design and regulatory issues impacting prices. Collaborate with short, mid-term, and long-term analysts in natural gas and power markets to develop comprehensive market views. What we need from you We welcome candidates with significant experience in Power Fundamentals and the following technical skills: Experience with power system analysis software (e.g., Plexos, Aurora, EPSI). Strong knowledge of energy economics and European Energy Markets. Excellent numerical, analytical, and communication skills, both written and oral. Proficiency in IT tools, including Python, Excel, and SQL for database interfacing. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or related fields.
