An Assistant Director of Studies is required for London Docklands, London Greenwich, Eastbourne, Norwich, Nottingham, Greenwich (London), London Roehampton, Gloucester, Dublin, and Lincoln. We are looking for several talented Assistant Directors of Studies to support our team in managing and ensuring the smooth running of the Academic Programme at residential Summer Schools in the UK. Twin Summer Centres are offering residential full-board summer contracts. The Assistant Director of Studies will support the Director of Studies in the preparation, coordination, and teaching of English classes. They will be required to teach an average of 15 contact hours per week, occasionally up to 30 hours. We seek candidates who are excellent classroom practitioners with experience in various teaching contexts and who are also competent EFL Managers. Our centres run from 4 to 6 weeks. Students, mostly under 18, come from all over the world, typically staying for 13 nights, engaging in a 30-hour English Language Course along with activities, excursions, and evening events. The programme runs from breakfast to lights out. You will be fully trained before the centre opens and supported throughout the summer by our experienced team. Your positive, professional attitude, initiative, and creativity will be vital in supporting the academic team. *Some centres may include international high school students who turn 18 before their arrival. Appropriate provisions and safeguarding measures will be in place, and you will be fully trained on these. ResponsibilitiesSupport the Director of Studies, including deputising in their absence. Monitor daily teaching of EFL classes. Implement CPD training for teachers. Plan student placement tests, academic timetables, courses, feedback, and certificates. Ensure lessons start and end on time. Oversee attendance and report absences. Prepare and deliver engaging lessons. Monitor student progress and provide feedback. Complete daily logs and student reports. Safeguard student well-being, act as First Aider and Fire Warden. Encourage use of English outside the classroom. Promote a positive, inclusive environment and good behaviour. Comply with health and safety regulations. Perform any other reasonable tasks as required. QualificationsTEFLQ diploma in ELT/TESOL (desirable). Eligible to work in the UK/Ireland. Age 18 or over. Clear DBS/Garda Vetting. Skills and ExperienceDesirable but not essential: First Aid Certificate (recent), experience with under-18s, teacher trainer, recent face-to-face teaching experience. These skills will aid your application but do not affect salary. Additional InformationSalary in the UK: £750/week, 40 hours, with holiday pay. Location: Various UK locations.
