Description We are seeking to recruit a plant operative at our wood recycling site in Tilbury. In this role, you will contribute to the department by decontaminating and sorting wood products manually, supporting the operation, assisting with maintenance of all site equipment, and maintaining general housekeeping. Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation Ensure understanding of the daily production plan, your duties, and your role in operations. Complete daily start-up checks on all machinery and report defects where necessary. Support site operations by emptying tip bins, moving materials when requested, and assisting with refuelling and housekeeping. Ensure you wear the required personal protective equipment and that it is in good condition. Follow all site and company procedures, conducting duties safely to prevent endangerment. Work with the team to maintain a clean, safe, and well-maintained site. Remove contamination from any area, including the picking station. Assist with site cleaning and housekeeping tasks. Monitor incoming wood loads and remove contamination such as paper, plastic, etc. Skills, Knowledge, and ExpertiseEffective communication skills with colleagues and customers. Experience in using radios for communication. Trained and proven experience in operating a Telehandler.
