What you’ll be doing as a Water Quality TechnicianEach year, we conduct over 500,000 water tests on samples collected from treatment works, reservoirs, and customer properties to ensure high-quality drinking water. Collect samples from various sites, requiring regular cold calling, excellent customer service skills, and responsibility for testing samples with provided equipment. Manage and maintain sampling records and equipment according to UKAS and DWI standards. Plan workload and deliver monitoring programs, coordinating with various teams for technical data, regulatory, and reactive work, following company protocols. Investigate supply issues, plan routes, and manage collection schedules. Arrange customer appointments, handle complaints, and participate in events. Participate in an out-of-hours roster, including weekends, on a five-week rotation. Drive large commercial vans, often in busy or remote areas, requiring a clean driving license and good route planning skills. What you should bring to the roleExcellent customer service skills for home visits. Confidence in cold calling residential and commercial properties. Organizational skills and ability to work independently. Attention to detail for record-keeping. Willingness to learn about the water industry and processes. Strong communication and computer skills.
