Job Description

We seek to appoint a part-time Art Specialist to join the Prep School. DetailWe seek to appoint from September 2025 a part-time dynamic, well-qualified and suitably experienced Art Specialist to lead our thriving art department. The appointed candidate will be an outstanding classroom practitioner who is able to inspire and encourage pupils in a happy and highly successful Prep School. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and effective teacher, passionate about Art and with a strong record as a classroom practitioner. He/she will lead and inspire Art within a happy and supportive environment where high standards are expected of staff as well as pupils. The emphasis is on skills development and creativity, enabling pupils to express themselves fully and make important links with other areas of their learning. Aesthetic and cultural awareness is also built through this important aspect of the girls’ education. In addition to a degree/relevant qualifications and teaching experience, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate flexibility, a collaborative approach, and be able to support non-specialist teachers in younger year groups. He/she will have a real desire to promote the subject throughout the School and work in partnership with Form Teachers and the Prep Senior Management Team to ensure that the Prep School is a vibrant environment where displays reflect the ambitious teaching and learning that take place. Working as part of a team is vital and he/she should be able to work constructively and independently in a very busy School in which children matter. We anticipate interviews will be held on Thursday 22nd May.
