Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking 4 dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our Paediatric Emergency Department (ED) team as a Clinical Senior Charge Nurses/Sisters. Active Research Strategy: Our department is recognised as a pilot site for numerous national studies, with over fifty articles and posters accepted for publication or presentation at national and international conferences by our nursing and medical staff. Main duties of the job Role and Responsibilities:As a Clinical Senior Charge Nurse/Sister, you will provide high-quality care in our busy and fast-paced department. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work and support staff in all areas of the Paediatric ED, including: • Triage • Resuscitation, including Major Trauma • ED Majors • Clinical Decisions Unit • Patient Flow You will be supported by a team leader, Modern Matron, and Nurse Consultant in Emergency Care. The role includes developing clinical skills through nurse-led discharge from the ED, providing medications via Patient Group Directives, plastering and suturing, requesting x-rays from triage, and cannulation of paediatric patients. Your personal development will be supported through clinical supervision with the Paediatric ED Matron and Lead Nurse. Person specification Education / Qualifications Essential criteriaRegistered Nurse (Child) Post-registration emergency nursing education (A&E Course, Acutely unwell Child, Emergency Practice or Equivalent Experience) Practice Supervisor / Assessor Advanced Paediatric Life Support Course Advanced Trauma Nursing Course / Trauma Nursing Core Course or Equivalent Level 2 Trauma course.
