Job overviewA great opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to join the women’s and children’s pharmacy team at The Royal London Hospital, Barts Health. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated clinical pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. You will work with a team of highly specialist pharmacy staff to deliver patient-centred pharmaceutical care to paediatric & women’s health patients. The Women’s & Children’s pharmacy team is responsible for optimizing patient flow, medicines safety, and patient outcomes, supporting the service in managing the medicines budget, and achieving best value for resources. We do this through working closely with multidisciplinary clinical teams, service management, and the wider pharmacy team, demonstrating the Trust WeCare Values. The post holder will support the Service Lead Pharmacist – Women and Children (W&C) Services in leading a team of staff in delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to the specialty based at Royal London Hospital. Person specificationExperienceProven experience of good performance in previous posts Experience in supervising and organizing staff and work Experience in teaching and training in a hospital setting (e.g., pre-registration or basic grade pharmacist) Experience providing clinical pharmacy services to paediatrics and neonates SkillsExcellent interpersonal skills Attention to detail in documentation Ability to follow written procedures accurately under pressure Numeracy skills for complex calculations Planning, prioritizing, and organizing skills Ability to work independently and under pressure IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and specialist programmes Effective customer service skills Good team working abilities Experience with ward practice Ability to communicate complex information clearly to all audiences Experience delivering staff training Supervisory skills KnowledgeUnderstanding of GPhC Revalidation requirements Knowledge of medicines management systems at ward level Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., controlled drugs, H&S) Understanding of stock control systems Knowledge of pharmaceutical care needs of women’s and children’s patients Awareness of national standards and guidelines relevant to women’s and children’s services Knowledge of safe and secure handling of medicines Understanding of SOPs and legislation adherence importance Knowledge of patient safety initiatives Understanding of complex paediatric, neonatal, and critical care pharmacology QualificationsMPharm or equivalent Registered pharmacist with GPhC Postgraduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent We are committed to promoting inclusion and supporting applications from individuals under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme.
