Join us as a Back End EngineerThis is an opportunity for a technically minded Software Engineer to join NatWest BoxedYou'll be working with new and innovative technology to deliver high impact solutionsHone your existing software engineering skills and advance your career in this critical roleWhat you'll doYoull join one of the core cross-functional mission teams to build and develop the NatWest Boxed technology product. We will look to you to develop clean, elegant and reusable code that is well-tested and easy to maintain and extend.Youll also:Work with stakeholders across the business to drive the direction of NW Boxed engineering and put the long-term interests of customers at the heart of key decisionsCollaborate across our backend chapter to uphold standards, best practices and to promote innovationWork collaboratively with the team to resolve technical issuesSupport and oversee junior engineers and act as a subject matter expertThe skills you'll needYoull need a strong background in software engineering, software design or database design and architecture. You should have solid practical and theoretical knowledge of Java software development as well as strong experience of Spring Boot / Micronaut.Youll also need:An understanding of Kubernetes / DockerAn excellent understanding of AWS deployment and configurationExperience working with message-driven architectures / Kafka / event sourcingExperience working on a highly secure applicationAn understanding on how to translate business objectives into data driven insight
