Location:Birmingham (with regional travel) Hours:Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm (flexible to meet business needs) Contract:Permanent Salary:Competitive, based on experience Prometheus is seeking a dynamic and strategicOperations Directorto lead our Secure Mental Health Transport and Complex Care Services. This senior leadership role is crucial to ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across our services. What You’ll Do Lead day-to-day operations across secure transport and complex care divisions Deliver against strategic goals by driving operational excellence Oversee key directorates including PSS, PCC, Fleet, and Support Services Manage change initiatives and continuous service improvements Monitor performance using KPIs and ensure compliance with internal and external standards Drive quality assurance and risk management initiatives Build and maintain strong relationships with NHS Trusts, Local Authorities, and Independent Providers Serve as the Health and Safety Lead, ensuring adherence to regulations Promote a culture of innovation and client-focused care Participate in the On-Call rota for executive-level decision-making support What We’re Looking For Proven experience in senior operational leadership roles, preferably in ambulance services, mental health, acute healthcare, or logistics Strong track record in strategic planning, budget management, and team development Deep understanding of risk management, quality assurance, and compliance Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and strong analytical capabilities Full UK driving licence (this role involves regional travel) Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Clinical Practice, or related field A Master’s degree or leadership qualification is desirable What We Offer Competitive salary (dependent on experience) Car allowance and performance-related bonus Auto-enrolment pension via The People’s Pension Free on-site parking Opportunity to lead within a mission-driven and innovative organisation At Prometheus, we’re proud to provide safe, dignified, and person-centred care.
