Buyer FoodBirminghamUp to £40,000 + Excellent benefitsCurrently looking for a ambitious and driven Buyer to join a successful family run business who specialise in food and beverage retail. They have experienced phenomenal growth in the last few years which shows no signs of slowing down and as a result they are growing their team at their Birmingham head office. You will be responsible for delivering a commercially focused product range within core grocery that meets both company and team targets, while maintaining a strategic business focus to ensure continued growth within the categories.Building & maintaining strong relationships with both large FMCG suppliers and smaller independent suppliersSourcing suppliers & negotiating best cost prices.Analysing sales figures to plan successful future lines.Review levels of own brand stock & ensure adequate levels are available and minimise riskPresenting reports, figures & trend information to the Senior Management teamDealing and resolving problems/queries relating to damaged or out of date product.Analyse market trends and competitor activityKey requirements for the role.Must have experience within a fast paced, FMCG environment preferably within Food.Ability to influence and negotiate effectively.Able to adapt swiftly in a fast paced, ever changing FMCG market.Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively at all levels.Good working knowledge of budgets and managing conflicting projects.Excellent understanding of all MS Office products including advanced ExcelThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced buyer to join a leading retailer with and excellent reputation & benefits, so if the role sounds of interest please apply today.
