NES Fircroft is proud to be partnering with one of the world’s leading independent Oil & Gas companies in their search for Technical Safety Engineers to join their growing QSHE team, based in Norwich.Our client operates across the globe, with this opportunity focusing on their UK subsidiary, which oversees key operations in the Southern North Sea. This is your chance to contribute to high-impact offshore and onshore projects, ensuring technical safety compliance and innovation at every stage.The RoleAs Technical Safety Engineer, you’ll play a crucial part in supporting the safe and efficient operation of offshore assets. Working within the QSHE team, you’ll be the go-to expert for safety engineering, offering in-house guidance and driving compliance with UK legislation and industry best practices.What You’ll Be DoingYou’ll lead and support a wide range of safety engineering activities, including:Facilitating and chairing safety studies – HAZID, ALARP, Bowtie, Total Risk Management, and moreCreating Barrier Diagrams (Bowties) and developing risk visualisation toolsConsequence modelling using PHAST and FLARESIM softwareConducting Mini QRAs with event and fault tree developmentCarrying out Hazardous Area Classification and Fire & Explosion Risk AssessmentsPreparing Safety Case material changes and conducting 5-Year Thorough ReviewsApplying knowledge of COMAH regulations and (ideally) Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)What We’re Looking For✔ A strong technical background – Degree in Process Safety, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar✔ Software skills – Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), PHAST, PHA-Pro, BowTie XP, FLARESIM✔ Great communicator – Able to clearly present technical findings and liaise effectively with senior stakeholders and regulators✔ Organised & analytical – You thrive under pressure, manage multiple priorities with ease, and are confident in your technical judgementDesirable but not essentialExperience working with COMAH regulationsExposure to CFD ModellingWhy Apply?You’ll be joining a forward-thinking team at the heart of the UK’s energy sector.
