The Opportunity Long Term Futures are working with a creative and community-led primary school tucked away in a quiet corner of Camden. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, forest school provision, and focus on emotional wellbeing. They are looking for a nurturing and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), who is currently working at a nursery-level developmental stage. This is a highly personalised support role, combining consistent one-on-one interaction, structured play, and emotional regulation. You'll be helping the pupil to access learning in a way that's responsive, routine-driven, and relational. Your Key Responsibilities Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions focused on early communication, engagement, and sensory learning Use calm and consistentbehaviour managementstrategies to support regulation and transitions Collaborate onlesson planningand tailor classroom activities to suit the pupil's developmental needs Log and reflect on key moments in the pupil's journey through ongoingprogress monitoring Work closely with the SENCO, therapist and class teacher as part of a joined-up support network What We're Looking For Experience supporting children with ASD or social communication needs Confidence using visuals, timetables, and sensory tools A grounded, calm presence when faced with dysregulation Familiarity with the Early Years Framework or primary SEN A belief in child-centred,small group instructionand developmental approaches Why Work with Long Term Futures?
