The post is based in our purpose-built 12-bedded inpatient Stroke Rehabilitation unit at Kendray Hospital. We encourage all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19.Main DutiesProvide high-standard clinical nursing care within the ward, maintaining a safe environment.Deliver personalized patient care, effectively utilizing resources.Assess, implement, monitor, and evaluate inpatient care in partnership with patients and families.Establish good multidisciplinary team relationships.Take charge of the ward regularly, supervising and delegating care in the absence of senior staff.Identify potential issues and report them appropriately.Participate in training, education, and supervision of staff, students, and relatives.Ad hoc senior nurse responsibilities, including emergency response.Additional ResponsibilitiesSupport ward operations to ensure quality care and dignity for patients.Carry out patient needs assessments and care planning, respecting family involvement.Ensure continuity of care through effective handovers and reporting.Educate relatives and carers for discharge readiness.Maintain confidentiality and comply with health and safety policies.Participate in research, evidence-based practices, and guideline implementation.Attend meetings and training, including appraisals and supervision.Mentor and support new staff and students.Maintain accurate records and manage supplies within budgets.Safeguard controlled drugs and ensure safe medication administration.Promote health and wellbeing, collaborating with internal and external services.Contribute to service planning aligned with Trust objectives.Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as required.Trust Values and Policies All staff must uphold the Trust’s values: honesty, respect, person-centeredness, striving for excellence, relevance, and family importance.
