About the role As a Driver Trainee Installer, you will be supported through our trainee programme to become a fully qualified John Lewis Customer Delivery Installer with a C1 driving licence. As one of our Installation Specialists based in one of our Customer Delivery Hubs, you'll have the opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' doors, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TVs as part of a two-person delivery crew. Respect customer homes and handle unexpected situations professionally. Install products efficiently and demonstrate their operation. Stay updated with new products and technologies. Maintain a safe working environment. This role involves heavy lifting, including large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture. Skills/Experience Required: UK B-Category manual driving licence with no more than 6 points. Excellent verbal communication skills. Interest and understanding of technology. Desirable Skills: Previous installation and delivery experience. Driver Installer ResponsibilitiesStart at the hub, then head out on route to: Provide excellent customer service. Load your vehicle with deliveries. Respect customer homes and resolve issues. Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use. Keep up-to-date with product knowledge. Ensure safety standards are maintained. Heavy lifting required as above. Skills/Experience Required: Manual C1 UK driving licence with up to 6 points. DCPC and Tachograph Card. Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle. Customer-facing experience. Excellent communication skills. Good tech understanding. Desirable Skills: Experience in installing white goods, TVs, and furniture. Driver Technician ResponsibilitiesStart at the hub, then on route to: Deliver excellent customer service. Coach and develop colleagues. Load your vehicle with deliveries. Respect customer homes and resolve issues. Install various products, including wall-mounted TVs and integrated appliances. Update product knowledge regularly. Maintain safety standards. Heavy lifting involved as above. Skills/Experience Required: Manual C1 UK driving licence with up to 6 points. DCPC and Tachograph Card. Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle. Experience in customer service roles. Excellent communication skills. Good understanding of technology.
