Ward Sister/Charge Nurse to a busy Oncology Ward, consisting of 27 inpatient beds and 4 acute oncology assessment trolleys treating complex patients at differing stages of their cancer journey. We treat patients in both curative and palliative stages of cancer, deliver treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and manage complex symptoms resulting from treatments or disease. It is a busy ward with at least 4 elective or emergency admissions and discharges daily. You will be a shift/team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support, developing and evaluating best practices within the department. The post-holder will deputise for the department manager and uphold the values of the Trust, acting as a role model. Candidates need substantial post-registration experience and must demonstrate competency in the administration and management of chemotherapy. Please note the proposed interview date is 6th May 2025. The successful applicant will be integral to safe care delivery, implementing change, providing clinical support to staff, participating in supervision, mentorship, and appraisals. They will manage clinical events of varying complexity, requiring physical effort based on patient dependency and clinical need.
