About The RoleThe primary purpose of an Analytics Data Scientist at HC-One is to leverage data-driven techniques to generate insights that empower strategic decision-making, improve care delivery, and enhance workforce efficiency and resident outcomes.Specialising in machine learning and statistical analysis, you will be responsible for developing predictive models, delivering advanced analytics, and uncovering trends to shape the organisation’s care home operations. By designing and deploying machine learning models, conducting trend analysis, and developing predictive tools, you will forecast resident needs, workforce requirements, and financial outcomes.You will collaborate closely with data engineers, analysts, and operational teams to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, presenting insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Your work will drive innovation, optimise care outcomes, enhance resident satisfaction, and automate routine processes. Additionally, you will utilise platforms like Microsoft Fabric and Power BI to prepare data, build advanced visualisations, and support smarter decision-making across the organisation.About YouThe ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong technical expertise, soft skills, and relevant experience to the role:You will need to havestrong programming skillsin languages like Python, R, or other statistical programming tools. Experience withmachine learning frameworkssuch as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn is essential to successfully build and deploy models. Additionally, you should have a solid understanding ofstatistical analysistechniques, including hypothesis testing, regression, and time-series analysis, to ensure insightful data interpretation.In terms ofdata visualisation , proficiency in tools such as Power BI or Tableau is key to presenting findings clearly and effectively. Familiarity withbig data technologieslike Spark is a plus, enabling you to work with larger datasets and distributed computing environments.On the softer side, the right candidate will demonstratestrong problem-solvingandcritical thinking skillsto tackle complex challenges. You should also haveexcellent communication skills , both in presenting findings and instorytelling , ensuring that data insights resonate with stakeholders at all levels. As the role requires working across teams, you’ll need the ability tocollaborate effectivelywith colleagues from various disciplines.Educationally , a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or Operational Research is preferred. However, practical experience in data science roles may be considered in lieu of formal education.With2+ years of experiencein data science or analytics, you should have a proven track record inbuilding machine learning modelsand applying statistical analysis to solve business problems. Experience with data platforms within theMicrosoft ecosystem —such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Synapse Analytics—is beneficial. Familiarity with thecare home, healthcare , oroperational sectorswould be an advantage but is not essential.Role & ResponsibilitiesData Analysis and Insight GenerationModel Development: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models and statistical algorithms to predict outcomes and optimise care delivery. Trend Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns and trends that drive key business decisions. Predictive Analytics: Develop tools and dashboards to forecast resident needs, workforce requirements, and financial outcomes.Collaboration and Stakeholder EngagementCross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with Data Engineers, Analysts, and operational teams to identify business challenges and translate them into data science projects. Data Storytelling: Present insights and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and impact. Support Decision-Making: Enable stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions by providing actionable insights.Innovation and Continuous ImprovementResearch and Development: Stay updated on the latest advancements in data science and assess their relevance for improving operations. Optimise Care Outcomes: Identify opportunities to leverage data science for enhancing resident satisfaction, workforce utilisation, and care quality. Process Automation: Develop intelligent algorithms to automate routine decision-making and analysis tasks.Platform and Data UtilisationData Preparation: Use Microsoft Fabric and other tools to extract, clean, and transform data for analysis.
