We will also consider current trainee ACPs that are part-way into their MSc. The post will initially be working at Heartlands Hospital, supporting the cardiology wards/CCU and taking the lead within our Assessment Area. This area is crucial for cardiology patient intake, and we plan to develop the role to include rotation to Good Hope Hospital's Cardiology Directorate to replicate this front door service. The role is full-time, involving 7-day working, including twilight hours as part of the rotation. Trained ACP: *Applicants should have an MSc in Advanced Practice, extensive experience as a Band 7 or above, and current clinical practice in cardiology or a related specialty (Acute or Emergency medicine). Trainee ACP: *Applicants should have started an MSc in Advanced Practice or be ready to start in September, with experience as a senior HCP, working in cardiology or a relevant specialty. We welcome applications from trainees who have completed year 1 of their MSc and are progressing towards their ACAT assessment, as well as qualified ACPs from AHP backgrounds. Main duties of the jobThe post holder will demonstrate expertise in the specialist service, providing advice, education, and support to staff, patients, and families. Practise autonomously as an advanced practitioner within the designated specialty, delivering patient-centered clinical care, including assessment, examination, diagnosis, and treatment within an agreed scope. Support innovative, efficient, and patient-focused service delivery, ensuring safe treatment, referral, and discharge of patients with undifferentiated presentations. Lead the development of clinical practice and standards, including policies, procedures, and guidelines in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Adhere to all aspects of the ACP Governance standards and procedures. Deliver approximately 90% of role time to clinical practice, with 10% allocated to appraisal, audit, teaching, self-development, and research.
