Purpose of PositionThe LaCarte Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of the LaCarte Department, including providing customer service and ensuring associates follow company policies and procedures. The role involves achieving production and budget objectives, performing stocking duties as needed, and serving as a role model for excellent customer service skills. Organizational RelationshipsReports to: Store Director, Assistant Store Director. Direct reports: LaCarte clerks, Assistant LaCarte Manager, and other clerks in the LaCarte Department. Essential Job FunctionsManage all aspects of the LaCarte Department, including supervision, customer service, sales, profit goals, product ordering, merchandising, staffing, training, and morale. Utilize the five steps of retail selling: connect, qualify, present, close, and create a customer for life. Ensure adherence to company and department policies and procedures. Perform duties of other department personnel as needed and in their absence. In the absence of higher management, may be in charge of the store. Supervise 2 to 15 associates in a fast-paced environment, taking disciplinary actions when necessary. Operate store computer systems. Work 40 hours per week during peak times. Additional ResponsibilitiesConduct work practice reviews and provide feedback to management. Achieve objectives related to food safety, workplace safety, and audits. Perform other duties as assigned. Work ManagementAssign, review, and approve work; schedule weekly shifts; determine staffing needs; and manage work hours and overtime. Decision-Making AuthorityMake staffing, hiring, promotion, and disciplinary recommendations. Train staff, complete performance reviews, and handle scheduling and discipline. Ensure safety and support department policies. Relations with OthersInteract courteously with customers, supervisors, subordinates, co-workers, vendors, and others. QualificationsMust be at least 18 years old. Experience in a supervisory role, problem-solving skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities. High school diploma or higher preferred. Working ConditionsStore open 7 days a week; work approximately 40 hours/week. Conditions vary from dry and moderate temperature to cold/freezer environments. Repetitive tasks and outdoor conditions may apply. Hair restraint required. Additional NotesThis is a full-time supervisory role with potential transfers.
