As a Carpenter, you will need to be keen, enthusiastic, and physically fit, working as part of a large team. Your main activities will include maintenance, reactive repairs, compliance monitoring, and associated remedial work at the Bethlem Royal Hospital site and Community Properties. Applicants should be able to organise their work, parts, and materials, and carry out tasks in a safe, tidy manner, capable of working on their own initiative.The trust provides a wide range of mental health services across the UK. To maintain service continuity, there may be times when extra hours, altered work patterns, or duties are required, as well as undertaking training to stay current with relevant standards.About The Team An exciting opportunity has arisen within SLAM for a Carpenter to join our Estates team at Bethlem Royal Hospital. The Trust manages four main sites and community properties. Applicants should be able to organise their work, parts, and materials, and perform tasks safely and tidily. Flexibility in work hours and duties may be necessary to ensure continuous service. The post-holder must have a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial building services.About The Role This role requires a Carpenter with a good general knowledge of domestic and commercial buildings. Responsibilities include statutory checks in line with the Approved Code of Practice (Building Regulations, HBN, & HTM).You will be expected to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of building structures, fabric, fire compartmentalisation, and fire door maintenance is essential. Applicants should be able to organise their work, parts, and materials, and carry out tasks safely and tidily.The Bethlem Royal Hospital is located in Croydon Borough, less than 10 minutes from the train station, with a local bus stop outside the main gates.
