Inspire and motivate students through outstanding teaching and learning that challenges students to excel.Lecturers should be passionate about their teaching area and enthusiastic about developing students' English, Maths, and employability skills. Regular target setting and progress monitoring will underpin this role to ensure successful student outcomes. Preferably, candidates hold qualifications and/or experience in teaching Business and Travel & Tourism, with a strong background in Further Education.Main Responsibilities and DutiesThe following indicates the main priorities as directed by senior management, not an exhaustive list: Deliver high-quality teaching according to College standards, preparing materials, schemes of work, and lesson plans, developing curricula, conducting quality assurance, assessing student work, and monitoring progress. Maintain good order, including safeguarding, equal opportunities, and health and safety. Manage day-to-day course operations, including communication, problem-solving, timetable adjustments, arranging cover, planning work experience, coordinating internal verification, and liaising with relevant departments to ensure compliance and consistency. Assist with recruitment, manage enrolments, and organize induction programs to ensure students are correctly registered and supported. Conduct regular meetings with students to set and review SMART targets, support UCAS applications, and address pastoral needs, liaising with college services as needed. Monitor attendance and results, report on performance, and implement action plans to improve student success. Support English and Maths provision through classroom and one-to-one sessions, monitoring attendance and progress. Participate in meetings, events, and college activities, including parent evenings and marketing events. Collaborate with colleagues on course development, attend CPD events, and mentor new lecturers as required. Handle departmental administration, including attendance records, reports, and VLE content. Engage in quality assurance activities such as verification, moderation, and course reviews. For SPS points 5-8: undertake internal verification, coordinate action plans, assist with resource management, support curriculum development, and liaise with higher education institutions.
