Job DescriptionHead of Estates Engineering Services - Royal Ballet and Opera Salary: To £88,000 per annum with an excellent benefits package. Role OverviewLead the strategic direction of all aspects of engineering services, creating a culture of exceptional service delivery focused on enhancing the visitor experience. The estate of the Royal Ballet & Opera comprises three sites: the main site in Covent Garden, which includes a 2,000+ seat theatre dating from 1858, redeveloped stage, rehearsal rooms, dressing rooms, workshops, offices, and ancillary spaces, completed in 1999; a second theatre and refreshed front-of-house spaces delivered via the Open Project in 2018; the Production Workshop and Costume Centre located in Thurrock, Essex; and a 14,000m2 store in Aberdare, Wales. These facilities support a complex production schedule and enable the organization to support thousands of staff, artists, and creative personnel to stage opera and ballet to exacting standards. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide leadership for the strategic planning and delivery of engineering services across all sites. Offer professional guidance on building and fabric maintenance, utilities, installation, capital works engineering, energy-saving, and carbon reduction projects. Lead and develop teams to ensure high standards of engineering and maintenance services. Candidate ProfileWe seek an individual with proven experience leading engineering services within a comparable, live operational complex estate portfolio.
