About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Engineering / Engineering Manager to oversee the engineering function at our Meal Solutions site, Cavaghan & Grey. This leadership role involves driving engineering excellence, managing capital projects, and leading a diverse engineering team. Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership:Provide strong leadership to ensure high-quality, reliable engineering support across operations. Project Management:Oversee engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely, within scope, and within budget delivery. Capital Expenditure:Manage a multi-million CAPEX budget annually, prioritising resource allocation for engineering projects. Preventative Maintenance (PPM):Develop and implement schedules to optimise equipment performance, minimise downtime, and ensure compliance. Team Management:Lead a team of 5-6 direct reports and 46 indirect reports, focusing on talent development and skills alignment. Key SkillsDegree-qualified in engineering or equivalent experience, including service leavers. At least 2 years in engineering management, preferably in food manufacturing or regulated industries. Experience leading large engineering teams and motivating staff. Strong technical knowledge of plant operations, automation, and regulatory standards. Proven leadership, communication, and people management skills. Problem-solving ability to identify issues and implement solutions efficiently. Experience in food manufacturing, food safety, plant engineering, automation, or pharmaceutical sectors. BRC Certification or similar food safety standards.
