Job Opportunity: Consultant in Obstetrics and GynaecologyThis position is highly suitable for candidates with subspecialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine who wish to contribute to maternal and fetal medicine services, including the diagnosis and management of fetal abnormalities and disorders of fetal growth. We also welcome applications from candidates with a strong background in maternal medicine who may prefer not to undertake fetal medicine work. The fetal medicine components of the role are flexible and can be adjusted to include general obstetrics or additional maternal medicine commitments, based on the applicant’s expertise and the needs of the service. The appointed individual will join the obstetric consultant on-call team, contributing to high-quality care for women with complex pregnancies. Expertise in managing women with medical comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension is particularly desired. Role ResponsibilitiesContribute to the smooth running of the obstetrics and gynaecology department. Maintain good working relationships among staff. Coordinate and conduct clinical and quality audits. Investigate patient complaints and address arising issues promptly. Ensure accurate record-keeping in compliance with Data Protection laws. Participate actively in risk management. Facilitate departmental meetings and clinical service reviews. Establish, maintain, and update clinical policies and protocols based on evidence and consultation. Liaise with GPs and referring hospital consultants to promote the department’s profile.
