PLC Engineer - Dordon, Tamworth Join the Ocado Logistics family in Tamworth, Dordon as a PLC Engineer and become a vital part of our high-performance maintenance team. That's why when you join us as Shift Engineer, we offer guaranteed shift patterns, allowing you to plan work around your life - whether that’s spending time with loved ones or working outside of normal hours.Where a hardware failure has been identified to activate a pre-defined workaround or make temporary modifications to PLC code to allow the operation to continue with the minimal possible impact while a repair is carried out. Where a PLC code issues is identified or suspected, diagnose and where appropriate deploy the required code fixes To provide front line issue investigation of live production PLC systems via on line monitoring of the code to identify and diagnose the cause of faults or failures of the equipment or code. To provide front line investigation of non-code related issues via the use of the relevant diagnostic tools for equipment such as Profibus / Can Bus networks, Bar Code Readers. Where necessary to be able to use the appropriate software to download configurations to non PLC intelligent devices which form part of the control system, such as Bar Code Readers, shuttle cars, local accumulation modules. To support the go live and ramp up of new production PLC systems or Future Projects. Keep records of work activities, tasks carried out, parts used through stores, training etc. Work closely with other departments finding ways to increase machine reliability on existing and new equipmentGood technical & experienced hands-on ability relating to automation hardware and software with Strong Electrical Experience A formal qualification in an electrical or mechanical engineering subject ( NVQ Level 3, HNC or equivalent) A good understanding of PLC control system architecture and field control devices A good understanding of Industrial Bus Networks e.g Profi bus, ASi Online code monitoring, modification and development with Siemens S7 300/400 PLC’s and TIA.
