Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesTechnical/Operational Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain complex equipment. Service and install systems including Water Systems, Gas appliances, HVAC, Steam Plants, Refrigeration, Medical Gas, Mechanical Pressure Systems, Oil-fired plants, Drainage, and Decontamination. Perform new work or manufacturing using relevant instruments and machinery independently. Analyze plant problems using Building Management Systems. Carry out emergency repairs and report necessary repairs. Conduct condition surveys and acceptance testing of new equipment. Act as a nominated competent person for statutory standards in trained areas. Participate as an emergency engineer in on-call systems. Communication/Organizational Communicate effectively with clinical staff regarding engineering issues. Prioritize and plan workload, re-allocating duties as needed. Train junior staff in equipment use. Coordinate work with contractors and supervise staff. Contribute to maintenance procedures development.
