In all cases you will be able to take advantage of their very flexible hybrid working arrangements, which ensure a good work / life balance.The team undertakes a wide variety of major and challenging infrastructure projects for the private and public sector, across a range of development sectors.About the roleOur client is looking for an experienced individual to lead projects and proposals in support of planning applications across a range of activities such as flood risk assessment, due diligence, drainage strategy, drainage design and modelling, environmental water assessments and input into Environmental Impact Assessments.Projects can be UK wide and typically range in size from 2k to 100M schemes covering defence, transport, local government, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential development.You will work independently and proactively on technical aspects from a projects inception, determining client briefs, to the delivery and close out of projects in accordance with best practice and supported by senior colleagues throughout.You will provide support to project managers throughout the delivery of projects as well as take on project management responsibility on low risk projects, including taking client facing roles as you develop your career.Where appropriate, you will instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff in the design and management of schemes and work with clients to ensure delivery of projects to time and cost, and to help manage change.About youSuitable candidates should be able to demonstrate: Experience in delivering flood risk projects and flood risk assessments to support projects through the planning systemKnowledge and experience in applying UK flood risk policy such as NPPF, SPP and TAN15Experience in consulting and liaising with key stakeholders (i.e. clients, LLFA, EA, water companies)Experience in writing reports and presenting to internal and external partnersExperience in developing drainage strategies, SUDs and drainage solutions by reference to local and national guidance documents (i.e. the SuDS Manual)Experience in discharge of conditions for planning applicationsExperience in delivering Water Framework Directive assessmentsExperience in advising flood risk schemes with respect to environmental, ecological and geomorphology.Experience in Micro Drainage/Info DrainageExperience in peer review.Experience in IT systems such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD and the Microsoft Office suite.Experience in the preparation of fee proposals and assisting with large bidsBe educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant field and chartered with CIWEM or equivalent.Good interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work independently, a collaborative approach and a proven ability to deliver work on timeA commitment to encouraging good health and safety practices within the workplace and within designBe a team player displaying enthusiasm, flexibility and versatilityThe ability to mentor, encourage and support junior team membersA desire to build uponyour existing experience,continuing your professional developmentHold a full UK Driving LicenceAn enthusiastic professional who likes a challenge (essential)Want to work in a busy and growing team and have a desire to progress their career (essential)RewardsThis is an exciting opportunity to join a successful company that offers a very competitive salary, pension, and benefits package, along with many other fringe benefits.As a business going through a strong period of growth there is excellent professional development support and great scope for progression.Our client has long recognised that their success is built on the expertise and dedication of their employees.
